May Prayer Letter

Deputation Update
Just after 7 months of deputation, we are up to 27,000 miles and are already over 30% of our support with much more promised! This past month we have been in churches in FL, MD, NC, TX, TN, and SC, and many of them have taken us on for support. We are excited about how the Lord is raising our support.

Ministry
We have had the opportunity to preach this month in a lot of places and the Lord has been doing some wonderful works in people’s hearts about missions and the ministry. We have seen some surrender to missions, some to the ministry, and others are considering it for the first time.
Our New (Free) Car!

The Lord has provided us a car free of charge! We had been praying recently about getting a more reliable car for deputation and someone heard about it and gave us one! Praise the Lord! He does answer prayer and we are continuously humbled how He continually provides for us.
VBM Orientation
The first week of May, we will be at Vision Baptist Missions orientation with about 40 other people that are already missionaries or that are in training and are planning on starting very soon. It will be a time of growing, enrichment, stretching, and learning.

Our Generation Leadership Camp

Pastedgraphic-1

This May 30th – June 3rd is the Our Generation Student Leadership Camp for Ministry and Missions. If you know of a young person interested in being involved in ministry, there is no better or more helpful place that they could be. The emphasis is on ministry and leadership and how we can be better servants of the Lord as we seek to lead others to Him here and on the mission field. The cost is only $150 and will be at the Fort Bluff campground neat Dayton, TN. Make plans to be there, you will not regret it.

Go to bcwe.org for more information.

Thank you for praying and supporting us. Pray that the Lord would use us as we travel and especially that he would raise up laborers for Thailand.

Yours for the Gospel in Thailand, Philip and Lori Bassham

Our New Deputationmobile!

We are headed back from Texas right now where we came to pick up the car that someone gave us!

We saw the end coming for our previous car (which had 238,000+ miles on it) and began to pray that the Lord would show us what we should get next, but nothing seemed clear. Then, within just a couple of weeks, someone just offered to give us this one for FREE!

It is extremely nice, quiet, gets good gas mileage, and is in good shape. I am continually humbled that the Lord would take care of us like He does. Here are a couple of pictures:

For Your Viewing Pleasure

I did a little editing on some of the photos I took in Thailand to try to make them look a little better. You can only get so good on a phone.

Why don’t you consider coming to help?

Listen to Some Thai Audio Bible!

Part of language study is listening. That is what a baby does for years before they try to say anything, so part of what we are doing to prepare to speak Thai is to listen to it – a whole lot before we even get to language school.
Here is a ink to a familiar chapter of the Bible, John 3.  See if you can recognize anything!
