Our second full month here has been very exciting. While the first month was filled with running around trying to get set up, this second month has felt far more productive.
Language school is hard work.
Our schedule right now is to be at school for reading and writing in the morning, then we get a lunch break, and we go to a different school in the afternoon for a couple of hours for speaking.
Both areas of the language are pretty challenging.
By the time we are through with school, and have navigated the roads back home, we are pretty wiped out. We crash early just about every night.
Things are starting to make sense in school, and we are able to carry on pretty good conversations with our teachers. We haven’t quite advanced to having regular meaningful conversations with strangers we meet…yet.
We have both enjoyed the challenge of learning the language, and right now we are both advancing pretty much together. We haven’t had the need to be in separate classes, which is nice because it is a tad cheaper that way.
It is interesting for sure. There are a lot of things that I think are a lot of fun. Playing frogger every day in traffic on the motorcycle, for instance.
Then there are the things that we aren’t used to and are really frustrating. I have written about some of this on our blog and will have some more updates there in the future, if you want to look there.
- That we would be able to find a language helper that would be willing to make helping me in the language his job.
- That we could stay safe on the roads as we travel. (You can taste the danger (and exhaust) every day.
- That we can continue to make friends and be a witness.
- That we could get a car soon.
