Stuff from our Week

November 25, 2013

  • I’m starting to realize when we talk about God to people here, they equate Him with the many others they have heard about their whole life.
  • 11 Thoughts on Mentoring/Discipleship from Trent Cornwell
  • Was neat to get a call from Mark Tolson tonight and get a chance to talk to 30 Chinese people packed in his house.
  • Front Page of the Thai newspapers today.
  • There were ~100,000 protestors last night (many more than last week) & today they are moving to make a big showing in the streets. Some have estimated it to have grown to 800,000 today, but no one knows for sure.
  • While out today I ran into one of the mobs, so I decided to turn around and wait on getting my extension cord. If I was in the truck I would have been stuck.
  • Are we safe, etc.? Yes. I have not sensed any threat to our safety at all. Bangkok is a big city, so it’s easy (and wise) to avoid the hotbeds. The times we have been caught in them, it was kind of like a Macy’s parade that no one was happy with.
  • Someone asked how this is affecting the churches. Nothing directly, though people are definitely occupied with all of the commotion.
