December Prayer Letter

December 12, 2018

Asia Regional Conference

Our Mission Board’s Asia Regional Conference

This past week we hosted the Asia Regional Conference for our mission board here in Thailand for 30+ of our friends that are working across Asia. The Lord blessed our time and used it to encourage and help us.

Lots of Visitors through Bangkok

The preceding Sunday, my Pastor preached and afterwards had one of those super-special snot-slinging times with the church where the Lord was working in our hearts and people were asking the Lord to use their lives to get the gospel around Thailand and the world.

In addition, we had some other missions interns visit for a week, our missions director, and 2 other missionary families.

Testimonies of His Goodness

The Young People at our house for Thanksgiving

We also had another special time of thanksgiving at our house a few weeks back. We didn’t talk about Pilgrims and Indians, but it was a big blessing to go around the room and hear everyone give thanks to the Lord for what he had done in their lives over the last year, their growth, and the specific ways we have seen Him work.

Big Church Rent increase <– Big Prayer Request

We have an important matter that we would ask you to be praying about. We currently rent the church building that we meet in, and our landlord called the other day to tell us that he wants to raise the rent over $600/mo. starting in March! That is a huge increase and we would ask you to pray about the negotiations between now and then. If we aren’t able to get him to come down, we will have a church move to squeeze in the 2 months we have before we leave for furlough.

Prayer Requests

  • A very busy couple of months leading up to our furlough
  • That we would be able to find a reasonable place in the States for our furlough
  • Church rent increase
  • The weight on the church as we plan to head out on furlough
  • Christmas services and outreach planned

Yours for the Gospel in Thailand,
Philip & Lori Bassham
