  • Leader: Philip Bassham | [email protected] | 678-404-2499
  • Cost: $2900
  • Dates: June 16-25, 2014 add to calendar

Missions Camp: June 9-13

(Note: Those coming should also plan on going to the five day pre-field training at the Our Generation Camp.)

Goals of the Trip

We want to provide an opportunity to get a vision for the work and needs in Thailand that can only come through seeing it in person. The Bible says that our eye affects our heart, and while we try to communicate through writing, pictures, and video, there is nothing like being in-country meeting real people and hearing their stories.

Secondly, we want to open the door for you to be involved in ministry. Even though you don’t speak Thai, there are opportunities for you to use your English to help us reach people. Not only that, but you can help through flyer/tract distribution, and helping conduct outreach activities.

Finally, we want it to be a time of learning about the mission field and missions. One week on the mission field will probably teach you as much about missions as you would learn in a decade of missions conferences. We hope that spending some time here will take away a lot of the façade and mystery of what happens on the mission field and help you be more effective in your missions activites at home.

Costs

$2900 will include all of the costs in-country, but you will want to bring some money for buying gifts1, etc.

This includes food, lodging, transportation, and activities while in-country.

Airplane ticket the cost may vary, please keep this in mind.
Deposit of $300 due on January 15, 2014.
Payments can be made by Check, or online by going to projectthailand.net

Additional Financial Notes

Cost covers expenses in Thailand but does not cover meals and snacks in the airports.

  • It is not hard to have enough money but you should start planning now.
  • It is better to have “too much money” and leave an offering than leave the missionaries to pay your load.
  • You are responsible to cover unexpected expenses during this trip.
  • You will also be visiting churches and will have the opportunity to give in the offering. If you are able please bring extra money to give during the offering times in the churches you will be visiting and for a love offering for missionaries that are going out of their way to help us. You will be in approximately six services during your time in Thailand.
  • We recommend approx. $200 extra spending money for souvenirs and additional attractions and snacks.

Coming to Thailand – General Info

There is a lot of information that you need to know about taking a short-term trip to make sure you get the best out of the trip. Below we have divided the information in separate categories to help you easily find the information you need.

  • Fundraising Ideas
  • Traveling to Thailand
  • What to Expect on your Trip

  1. Gifts: There are many things that you will probably want to buy, but it is all dependent on you. You can get little nicknacks for about $10, or you can go broke buying fake rolexes. Up to you. ↩
  2. This is not disney world, and I am not sure what may happen to influence tomorrow, much less the dates of this trip. I can assure you that we will work to make the absolute most of your time here, plan as much as we can, and be sensitive to the Spirit's leading. ↩
